Designed by Jordi Vilanova in 1965, its name comes from the similarity of the model with a lantern or hand lantern (meaning of « fanal » in Catalan) with a grip to be able to transport or hang it. It was made in two sizes, small and large, and can be used as a table or pendant lamp.
